North Wales Fire and Rescue Service offers a Community Safety Apprenticeship within its Community Safety Team.

Following an eighteen month programme, this apprentice role offers excellent personal and career development opportunities to work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship award in Advice and Guidance.

The role of the Community Safety Team is to provide information and guidance to members of the public so that they can keep safe within their own home.

Fire and rescue services work closely with their communities to raise public awareness about the risk of fires and other accidents and to help ensure North Wales is a safe place to live, work and visit. This helps to reduce the impact of fire and other hazards on communities, as people understand how to prevent problems from occurring and understanding what to do in an emergency.

The Community Safety Apprentices will work as a Community Safety Adviser working closely within the communities, providing education and advice on preventing fires, falls, road safety and other initiatives.

Competencies and skills to be demonstrated:

Proficient ICT skills
Full clean driving license
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Welsh language speaking skills to level 2 standard - requires that you can: understand the gist of conversations in work, respond to simple job-related requests and requests for factual information, ask simple questions and understand simple responses, express opinions in a limited way as long as the topic is familiar, understand instructions when simple language is used. The apprenticeship will lead to a nationally recognised qualification in customer service at Level 3.

The apprenticeship will lead to a nationally recognised qualification in Advice and Guidance at Level 3.
