Rhyl Fire Station will be having an Open Day on Monday 26th starting at 11.00am.

During the day there will be an opportunity for members of the public to register for a free home fire safety check, meet the firefighters, soak the firefighters, view appliances and vehicles, have a barbeque, see displays and much more.

North Wales Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service will also present on the day. Visitors can take a peek inside an emergency ambulance and chat to crews about their role in the community.

Rhyl-based paramedic Dermot O'Leary said: "We are keen to support the efforts of our fire service colleagues in reducing the number of casualties."

Richard Westwood, Watch Manager at Rhyl Fire Station, said: "This will be a great day out for the family where they can learn about how to stay safe from fire and enjoy themselves at the same time. We have a number of attractions here on the day to suit everyone."

All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Fire Fighters Charity, StKentigernHospice and Tŷ Gobaith.

Rhyl Fire Station is on Coast Road in Rhyl.
