Emergency services have been called to a fire on St Asaph Avenue in Kinmel Bay, near Rhyl.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service mobilised fire appliances at 17.44 hrs (Tuesday 4 April) to the fire at a commercial premises.

The road is closed at the junction with Foryd road and Cader Avenue and Tir Llwyd Business Park roundabout. The public is requested to avoid the area if possible.

Several properties in the immediate area have been evacuated as a precaution due to heavy smoke in the vicinity.

Emergency services are expected to remain at the scene dealing with the incident for some time.
