Working in partnership to promote water safety for World Drowning Prevention Day
PostedStaff from the Service are joining forces with partners for World Drowning Prevention Day the 25th of July to help share important water safety messages with our communities.
The Service will be joining with partners for two public water safety awareness events - one at Llyn Tegid, Bala and one at Llyn Padarn, Llanberis.
Partners from Byw’n Iach Gwynedd will be running SwimSafe sessions at Llyn Tegid with support from our Bala crew, while staff from our Prevention team and Bangor crew will be supporting Plas Menai run SwimSafe sessions at Llyn Padarn alongside.
Booking is required for these sessions and you can do so by following the below links:
- Book a session at Llyn Tegid at 1:30pm
- Book a session at Llyn Padarn for either 10am or 1pm
Kim Jones, Fire Safety Watch Manager at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:
“We’re coming together to raise awareness, promote safety, and deliver vital messages like ‘Float to Live’ and ‘Phone. Throw. Float’.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming members of the public to these events and raising awareness of water safety – everyone is welcome.”
